I was given a bottle of La Rosine by a friend as a joke on my surname and I nearly didn't drink it. Since then I have followed everyone of his vintages and go and taste twice a year at the cellars. My only regret is that I am unable to obtain enough of his wines, as I could personally drink and sell far more.
The La Rosine Syrah is regarded by many wine critics as better than some Côte-Rôties. It is aged in oak barrels for three quarters of a year. This is French Syrah at its best. It has a wonderful soft spicey nose and the palate is to die for. This is probably one of my favourite wines along with the Crozes and Chateauneuf.
