One of the oldest bodegas in Valdepenas, Los Llanos was founded in 1857 by a wealthy local family who wanted to prove that their town was able to produce top quality , aged, Temparanillo based wines. 130 years on the winery has expanded to accommodate all the facilities you would expect to find in a modern and innovative winery.
Pata Negra is made in the traditional Riojan style, but using French oak. This wine is blended from wines made from the most concentrated Tempranillo grapes grown in the arid climate of the Valdepenas. It is aged in new oak for at least 2 years and then in bottle. It is released after 5 years.
