Patrick’s love of wine began early with the French tradition of water and wine during the long summers at his grandmother’s house in France.

After joining the wine trade in 92 and gaining his Wine Diploma in 95 he worked his way up from junior to developing the restaurant wine portfolio for a West London wholesaler. Introducing several top London restaurants to a range of boutique wineries from the Rhone Valley, discovering a brand new excellent Chateauneuf du Pape, 15 years of spitting has built up Patrick’s reputation as an experienced and imaginative taster.

In 2006 Patrick decided to follow his dream of setting up on his own and after joining forces with the AWT Group of Restaurants, Smart Wines came into operation.
